Welcome! I'm a software engineer and app developer who cares as much about how something looks and feels as how well it runs. I'm currently a software developer at SourceWhale and the technical co-founder of Eventful - building products people actually want to use every day.

  1. September 2025 - Present

    SourceWhale

    Software Developer

    Developer working closely with the product team to build the company's communication modules, plus building and being the main point of contact for company's mobile app

    • Using React Native to build the company's mobile app using Twilio's SDKs for calling. Handling inbound and outbound calls, and SMS messaging.
    • Using AI tools like OpenAI's API to build to generate transcripts and summaries of calls.
    • Working closely with the product team to iterate and improve the app's functionality and user experience.

  2. July 2024 - September 2025

    HVN Labs

    Software Developer

    Main software developer for the animation team at a drone show company - building tools for smooth, safe shows and collaborating with hardware on new drone firmware.

    • Worked with drone engineers on a forked C++ ArduPilot codebase for better pilot control during shows.
    • Built two Python conflict-avoidance algorithms for safer autonomous multi-drone landings.
    • Created a Blender add-on (conflict avoidance, show scaling, complex paths) - reported ~30% productivity gain for animators.

  3. October 2022 - July 2024

    Alderley PLC

    Junior Software Developer

    Software developer on the digital team supporting SAM (Smart Asset Management) - helping clients manage, analyse, and track oil and gas data from rigs worldwide.

    • Delivered C# / .NET front-end and back-end features with SQL / PostgreSQL and Azure DevOps.
    • Developed a bespoke MQTT broker reading 4,000+ metrics from 100+ devices at an Aramco site in Dammam.
    • Created 80+ Playwright end-to-end tests, cutting developer testing time by ~20%.
    • Improved Azure CI/CD pipelines, reducing average build time by 15 minutes per deploy.

  4. March 2019 - Present

    Eventful

    Technical Co-Founder

    Mobile app for planning events with friends and family. Started in SwiftUI; moved to React Native with Expo as traction grew to support Android.

    • Designed, built, and shipped Eventful on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
    • Added Redux, Firebase, and improved UI/UX - 5,000+ App Store downloads and 100+ daily users.
    • Built the React marketing website and in-app subscriptions to fund new features.
    • Photo-booth feature is the most popular - ~1,000 photos taken per day.
